We're hiring for the fall season!

Organic Farm Worker – Fall Grazing Assistant

35-40 hours/week

$15 per hour

Duration: Sept - December

Location: Rock’s End Farm, Farrellton, Quebec

About the Position

As the Grazing Assistant on our certified organic farm, you will spend much of your time with our flock of Icelandic sheep, and our small herd of Angus cows. You will be responsible for keeping the animals healthy and well cared for while also regenerating the soil through grazing management. Working independently, you will be bringing the animals to fresh pasture daily by moving fencing and water, assessing the pasture and planning the movement of the paddocks to ensure that the animals always have everything that they need: feed, water, shade, mineral, safety, low stress. You will be hiking the hills of our beautiful 300 acre regenerative farm to assess the livestock and their pastures. You will also help at times with other farm tasks, including but not limited to: assisting with packing boxes of meat, helping with farm maintenance and fencing, and assisting customers when they come to the farm to collect their orders. We will value your insights and contributions as a key member of the farm team. The ideal candidate loves the outdoors, enjoys hiking and physical work, is a problem solver, has a keen eye for detail, and is equally at ease working independently or in a team setting.
